Department of Science and Technology Engineering Research and Development for Technology (DOST-ERDT) Scholarship
About ERDT
The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) is a consortium of member universities in the country that offer master's and doctoral degrees in various engineering fields.
ERDT was created to:
1. implement high-impact research agenda that are aligned with the development plans of the Philippines;
2. contribute in attaining a critical mass of graduates with master's and doctorate degrees;
3. upgrade the qualifications of practicing engineers;
4. upgrade the quality of engineering colleges and make engineering graduate education accessible; and
5. help in developing a culture of research and development (R&D) in the country
ELIGIBILITY
An applicant must:
1. be a Filipino Citizen
2. not be more than 50 years of age at the start of the program
3. have passed the admission requirements of the graduate program supported by ERDT
4. have a BS/MS degree in engineering or related field
5. be in good health condition
6. not have any criminal/ administrative case
7. pass the interview and other screening procedures

1 The MS stipend rate will be given to grantees of a 4-yr PhD program in the first year.
2 Given only to students who study outside their home province.
3 Must be applied by the scholars and subject to evaluation and approval. Grant approved is subject to liquidation.
4 Not applicable to Master of Engineering scholars.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Accomplished ERDT Application Form
2. Certified True Copy of the Official Transcript of Records
3. Confirmation Slip of Recommendation Letters from 3 former professors or supervisors
Provide contact details (name, position/designation, phone number, and email) of three referees to the Graduate Programs Coordinator. Confirmation slip shall be provided once the recommendation forms from three referees are received via email.
4. Photocopy of PSA (NSO) Birth Certificate
5. Valid NBI clearance
6. Medical clearance indicating "fit to study"
7. A narrative of not more than 1,000 words describing your current work or a project or research that you worked on and your contribution towards the completion of the project
8. A narrative of not more than 500 words describing what you intend to do (e.g. work, business, etc.) after earning your graduate degree
9. A narrative describing your intended research area
10. If employed, recommendation and permission to take a leave of absence from the employer or head of agency while on scholarship
TERMS OF SCHOLARSHIP
1. The scholarship grant shall be for full-time graduate studies to ensure on-time completion of MS/PhD degree.
2. The grantee must not be employed while on scholarship. He/She must secure approval for official leave of absence, if employed.
3. The grantee shall execute a Scholarship Agreement.
4. The grantee must not have other scholarships.
5. The grantee's academic performance shall be evaluated every school term on established policies to determine his/her scholarship status.
6. A service obligation to be rendered in the Philippines shall be required of the grantee after he/she finishes the MS/PhD degree i.e., one year of service for every year of scholarship.
7. Refund of scholarship with interest shall be required of the grantee for non-completion of his/her graduate program, termination of the scholarship, or failure to comply with the service obligation.
