The Professional Science Master's Degree in Data Science (PSMDS) develops professionals with enhanced skills in data gathering, analysis, and interpretation to meet the growing demand of industries increasingly relying on big data to come up with innovative solutions to improve their operations.

 

The program is the first and only PSM program in Data Science in the National Capital Region. Its curriculum was benchmarked against the curricula of leading data science programs of schools affiliated with the US National Professional Science Master's Association (NPSMA) to ensure relevance and quality.

 

It was developed jointly with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) in partnership with CloudSwyft Global Systems Inc., a learning-as-a-service provider across the Asia Pacific, and Emerson Philippines, the global technology and engineering company that provides solutions for customers in the industrial, commercial and residential markets.


Graduates of the program are expected to be efficient in gathering data, turning big data into useful and actionable insights relevant to the industry, solving real-world problems through carefully applied problem-solving skills, and contributing to the creation of more nimble, efficient, and effective companies and industries. The program also aims to develop their professional and managerial skills as they shall be expected to play lead roles within their organizations.

 

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

 

Three to five years of graduation, alumni of Professional Science Master's Degree in Data Science shall:

  • have advanced their practice or achievement in the field of Data Science and/or other endeavors or advocacies supported by their acquired data science education;
  • strive to be globally competitive through
    - living by the T.I.P. mission values, engaging in lifelong learning, and practicing continuous quality improvement in their personal lives;
    - continuously scanning, adopting, and building on the best practices in their field;
    - contributing to the advancement of learning in the field of Data Science through research and professional practice.
