The program Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Engineering Management by T.I.P. offers a solid career opportunity for both new engineering college graduates and skilled professionals who want to gain management qualifications with advanced scientific and technical skills as needed by today’s competitive and complex organizations.
The program aims to bridge the gap between engineering and technological problem-solving abilities of engineers with administrative skills for leading the day-to-day operations of an organization. It features the combination of business and management acumen with technical expertise, designed to play a key role in preparing the next generation of managers in the engineering sector.
At its core, it gives enrollees the best of both worlds: an advanced science degree to give one the edge in one’s profession and a business education to enhance one’s managerial skills.
The program was created to address the challenges felt by many industries to develop the competent human capital needed for effective leadership. It provides an experiential component for the student through the completion of a capstone project. The student will be given the opportunity to apply business and organizational skills, as well as technical skills, to produce projects relevant to the industry.
The program was developed under the mentorship of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) and with industry partners Applied Machining Corporation (AMC), P.IMES, and Western Digital Storage Technologies (Philippines), Incorporated. The curriculum was benchmarked against the curricula of similar programs from top universities in the US and Asia.
